A Brief Reprieve

After weeks of building more and more stress from the solicitation of school supplies from everyone we could think of and planning events, Monday’s class was quite a relief. We were visited by our student predecessors in a breakfast party with laughs and smiles all around. A happy surprise for past students were the gifts sent from Afghanistan in thanks for their support. I was especially besmirched by the Hookah Jordi took home. Our Dean Dr. Silverman came over for an awards presentation with nothing but sincere smiles for everyone…….that wasn’t wearing orange and blue.

After the awards and gifts were divvied up, our classes split into groups and the event became a social in which the last class did their best to ease our stresses about the rejection and indifferent responses for all of our projects. We spent the rest of the class in cliques talking about our experiences or just catching up with friends. While I can’t speak for everyone, I feel far more secure about my class progression now than I did last week. Which is a good thing because my group’s event is just around the corner.

All that stands between now and the Bull Market supplies drive is Spring Break and a few days. I was able to talk with Avagay1 about set up and what not after the party. Should we not be provided a table, I have collapsable camping gear gathering dust that will do just fine. She’s been working on a poster and we can borrow the donation boxes the day of the drive. Unfortunately, we’ve not been able to get confirmations on either Papa Johns or Dunkin Doughnuts; but we will press on regardless. As far as I’m concerned as long as we do our best, and nothing else can be done, nothing else matters.

As always, follow this link for a list of items collected for school supply donations or if you have supplies for donation. Thank you for your support and have a good weekend.
